Orange and T Mobile to set up Mobile TV tests in London

News from the BBC, now, about a trial scheme Orange and T Mobile have gotten into bed for, to test out Mobile TV in our nation’s fair (well, smoggy) capital city, London.

First trialled in Bristol in 2006, the new TDtv system promises to bring high-definition content to customers’ phones, directly through their 3G connection, the goal being to provide a service with 24 TV channels and 10 digital radio stations, straight to users’ phones.

Now, having tried Mobile TV on my second phone (my W950i), I know that it is really rather good. But it can be a bit choppy (which is annoying when you’re halfway through watching a Nightwish video on Kerrang), so I’m all for this trial, and I sincerely hope it gets rolled out across the country really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really soon.

In the words of the Dire Straits song, “I want my, I want my, I want my MTVeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee…”
