Samsung

Samsung “Secret Color” Mobile Phones

I found a story on Mobile Whack, today, about Samsung’s latest phones for its home turf, the Korean market. Called the “Secret Color” series, they look like any other slidephone would, when they’re closed. Pretty sleek, and I have to say, when they’re closed, they’re really good-looking phones. However, the shock comes when you slide one open, and see the keypad.

I predict your reaction will be, “Whoa! Bright!”

Y’see, as you can see from the pic, the Samsung Secret Color phones are 2-tone. So, imagine them as kind of a red and beige Vauxhall Nova (Ok, weird analogy, I know, but you know what I mean). From the outside, they’re pretty normal looking phones, albeit very sleek, and definitely in keeping with Samsung’s design ethos. But the keypad, the hidden bit giving the Secret Color line its name, is bright blue. Or pink. Or green, or red.

But the key thing is, WHOA, IT’S BRIGHT! Oddly enough, I can see this phone doing well, because some of the colour combinations do look damn stunning (the blue and white one), although, granted, the blue and pink one looks like Barbie’s hand-me-downs.

The other big surprise is the spec of the phone, since it sounds really rather high-tech. There’s no word on what camera it has, but the specs say it has internet access with speeds up to 7.2Mbps. Which is chuffin’ fast, however you look at it.

It seems a shame, then, that we’re unlikely to see them over here, but hey, you never know. It would be quite nice if they make it these shores.

Because the blue and white one really is gorgeous…
